Schmittenhöhe, offering a breathtaking view of the snowcapped peaks of the Hohe Tauern mountain range, is one of the loveliest mountains with great lookouts in the Eastern Alps. On Zell’s local mountain, guests can appreciate the view of 30 summits over 3,000 metres including Grossglockner, Wilder Kaiser and Kitzsteinhorn. In the summer months Schmittenhöhe is absolutely made for taking a walking tour. Participate in free guided walks or discover Zell’s local mountain off your own bat. The diversified weekly programme includes herb, art and music walks as well as guided tours across the Alpine pastures and educational nature hikes for the entire family, the famous Pinzgau stroll and exciting GPS treasure hunts. Sporting skills are in demand at Europe’s highest located disc golf course where athletes are asked to 'hole out' with as few throws as possible. Hang-gliders and paragliders prize Schmittenhöhe highly as a starting point into one of the world’s best aviation areas. The larger-than-life artworks at the gallery on the piste are a spectacular sight, too, and can be found along the walking paths. A highlight for families: the adventure trail Schmidolin’s baptism of fire. Many exciting stations along the high route await young visitors and their parents. New this summer: new stations along the high route, a great playground on Sonnkogel, new additions to the disc golf course and new games of skills along Schmidolin’s baptism of fire' trail.
