Update 6 July 2021:

The IRONMAN 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun is taking place!

In 54 days, on 29 August 2021, the starting shot of the IRONMAN 70.3 will be given in Zell am See-Kaprun on the already legendary route.

Preparations for race day are already in full swing and the IRONMAN Austria team can hardly wait to organize another extraordinary racing experience for around 2,500 athletes after 2019.

In order to be able to guarantee the participants the best possible safety, in addition to the Safe Return to Racing program from IRONMAN, the existing prevention and safety concept will also be implemented. According to the currently applicable regulations, this also includes a 3G certificate (tested, vaccinated, recovered) of all participants in order to be able to move around the official event areas.

You can find more information about the IRONMAN 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun here. Further information on the Safe Return to Racing measures can be found here.

IRONKIDS and Iron Girl Run will not take place this year. Moreover, the Ö3-Disco at town square and the hotspots at Thumersbach and Kaprun will not take place in 2021.

IRONMAN 70.3 bike course in the TOP 3

The IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship 2015

... has made the Zell am See-Kaprun region famous in the international triathlon scene - and that rightfully so. The alpine character of the landscape between glacier, mountains and lake is perfect for first-class endurance sport. Not too cold and not too warm, Lake Zell provides the ideal water temperature for high performances of the participants in the IRONMAN swimming contest. The cycling route leads 90 kilometres through the rather beautiful surrounding mountain world before the 21.1 km long running route offers the ironmen and women amazing views across the lake and the Hohe Tauern. Considering the total route to be completed, it is anyone's guess whether the athletes can actually enjoy much of the view ...
