KEM measures Zell am See-Kaprun as a KEM region (Climate & Energy Model Region)

The goal in Zell am See-Kaprun is clear: the region wants to become a tourism showcase in terms of climate and energy. Sustainable holidays should not only be a slogan in the future, but should be put into practice: In this endeavour, the region is supported by the Climate and Energy Fund and can proudly call itself a "Climate & Energy Model Region" (KEM).

Eleven focal points: From mobility to regionality

The KEM implementation concept is based on a total of eleven focal points, which will be the focus of attention over the next three years. An important part of the programme is the topic of mobility: a CO2-free holiday should be possible in Zell am See-Kaprun, and sustainable mobility solutions should be created for this purpose. Important steps have already been taken with the Pinzgau Mobility Card and the conversion of some ski buses to electric mobility.

Putting regional products and foodstuff in the spotlight and demonstrating their value is another aspiration of the KEM programme. In addition, Zell am See-Kaprun wants to become an e-bike region and establish itself as a climate and energy congress location.
