Kaprun Museum

The history of Kaprun goes back almost 4000 years: You can encounter this long history at the local history museum. Here you can marvel at archaeological finds from the first settlements, and learn how the region slowly developed into a tourist destination. Did you know that the foundation stone for the development of tourism in Zell am See-Kaprun was laid as early as 1900? The work and know-how that made Kaprun a favourite holiday destination is highlighted and presented in the exhibition. The construction of the power station and the Kaprun high mountain reservoirs also have a fixed place at the museum and are just as exciting as the history of the Kaprun Gletscherbahnen cableways.

Vötter's Vehicle Museum

A museum that makes the hearts of car fans beat faster: At Vötter's Vehicle Museum in Kaprun, passionate vehicle fan Helmut Vötter has collected around 200 exhibits from the 1950s to the 1970s. Among them are tractors, motorbikes, small cars and the largest convertible in the world. Most of the vehicles have been restored in long hours of work and now invite you to (automotive) dreaming. Some of the exhibits at the Vintage Car Museum are even still on the road every now and then: the historic vehicles from Vötter's Museum show what they are made of at the Oldtimer Grand Prix on the Grossglockner.
