Mozart City of Salzburg

Salzburg combines culture and art. National Park Worlds Mittersill

The National Park Worlds in Mittersill take visitors on a journey through time: the ‘Gallery of Life’ leads to the Untersulzbachtal wilderness area and provides magnificent insights into this pristine spot of land, which has been kept completely untouched. Using a disc of a 6,000-year-old Swiss pine, the ‘Glacier World’ shows the history of the Pasterze Glacier. Other areas illustrate primordial oceans and the abundance of water in the Hohe Tauern National Park with its 500 mountain lakes and 800 moors, and you can embark on the exciting journey of a drop of water.

Eisriesenwelt

South of Salzburg, in the Tennen Mountains, you will find an extraordinary destination: the world’s largest ice cave. Unlike stalactite caves, there are very few ice caves in the world that are open to visitors. The size of the Eisriesenwelt near Werfen is very impressive. However, its gigantic underground labyrinth and unique ice formations are the real attractions. Here you can take part in a guided tour through the cave system, which takes you about a kilometre into the cave.
