Skiing already from October Autumn skiing on the Kitzsteinhorn

While the trees in the valley slowly turn autumnal yellow and red, it's already winter on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier: Here in the high alpine terrain, the extra-long ski season will start on 11 October 2025 (depending on weather and snow conditions). Perfect for all those who already dream of the first downhill runs and turns in the snow in autumn!

Early start to the winter season

Thanks to its altitude, the Kitzsteinhorn glacier offers top snow quality and a long ski season from autumn into summer (Planned ski season in winter 2025/26: 11 October 2025 to 25 May 2026, depending on weather and snow conditions). The glacier ski resort in Salzburg in Austria thus becomes a favourite for all snow-hungry and skiing fans as early as October.

Which pistes will be open from when? Which cable cars are in operation? This all depends on the prevailing weather conditions and temperatures. The digital piste map keeps you informed and up to date on a daily basis.
