Whether on the Schmittenhöhe or the Kitzsteinhorn: The cable cars in Zell am See-Kaprun take you up to the top - without any obstacles. Many of the cable cars on the Schmittenhöhe have lifts to the access level and wide, ground-level cabins that are also easy to use with a wheelchair - this is how you can also reach the panoramic platform “Kaiserblick”. The experience at over 3,000 metres on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier is also inclusive: all attractions around TOP OF SALZBURG are accessible (see below under mountain railways). Once at the top, accessible huts and mountain restaurants on both mountains await for a relaxing break - impressive mountain panorama included.

Please note: When changing from one cable car to another, there may be snow on the way in winter and gravel in summer. In May and June and from around mid-September to the beginning of October, the Langwiedbahn chairlift operates instead of the Gletscherjet 2 gondola lift due to maintenance work. An accessible holiday starts with your arrival. Zell am See-Kaprun is easily accessible by public transport - both by ÖBB trains (Austrian Federal Railways) and Postbus. Locally, accessible bus services and stops ensure flexible mobility within the region, even by wheelchair or with mobility aids. Many services offer access without steps and low boarding heights to make travelling comfortable and safe. Detailed information on accessible features and services can be found on the websites of the Salzburger Verkehrsverbund transport association and the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB).
