Arrival Train, car or plane: Your arrival

The holiday region Zell am See-Kaprun is located between glacier, mountains and lake and can be reached quickly by train, by car and also by plane.


Arrival by train

The environmentally friendly arrival by train is easy: there are excellent train services from all Austrian cities, from Germany and Switzerland. The train station of Zell am See is located directly in the town centre. From there you can reach numerous hotels and restaurants on foot. If you are travelling to Kaprun or other towns, buses and the Pinzgau local railway are available.


Arrival by car

You can reach Zell am See-Kaprun from Salzburg by car in about 1.5 hours, from Munich it takes about 2.5 hours. Well-developed main traffic routes and motorways bring you from both cities directly to your holiday destination. Important: In order to use the Austrian motorways by car, you need an Austrian motorway vignette.

  • Coming from the north: German motorway A9 from Munich
  • Coming from the south: A10 Tauern motorway 
  • Coming from the east: A1 West motorway
  • Coming from the west: A12 Inntal motorway to Wörgl, then federal A-Roads

Arriving by plane

Arriving by plane is possible from almost all European cities: Zell am See-Kaprun is only about 80 kilometres from Salzburg Airport and about 200 kilometres from Munich Airport. From there, numerous individual cab and shuttle services as well as public bus and train services bring you quickly to Zell am See-Kaprun.
