You can learn about the region’s history at the many museums in the region: at the Kaprun Museum, you will find information about the village’s 4000 years of history, while the National Park Gallery on the Kitzsteinhorn opens the doors to the fascinating world of the glaciers and the Hohe Tauern National Park. Another attraction is a visit to the high mountain reservoirs in Kaprun, where you can enter the interior of these enormous structures on a guided tour of the dam wall.

For an enjoyable break from everyday life, the Zell am See-Kaprun region offers numerous options. One of the most beautiful - and relaxing - is a visit to the Tauern SPA resort in Kaprun with 20,000 square metres of wellness and spa area. Zell am See-Kaprun is located in the heart of SalzburgerLand and is an ideal starting point for exploring the entire region: thus, if a trip to the Mozart City of Salzburg has been on your bucket list for a long time, it's easy to do so from Zell am See-Kaprun. The world-famous Krimml Waterfalls or the impressive Grossglockner High Alpine Road are also close by.
