FREE ENTRY on Friday evening
With the Marktspectacelum on Friday, 19 July 2024, the Kaprun Castle Festival starts on Friday evening from 5 pm with culinary delights, market and camp life, children's activities, juggling, belly dancing and an evening concert with a small fire show. Admission free!
The highlight is the march from Salzburgerplatz on Saturday, 20 July and Sunday, 21 July 2024 at 11 am to the castle in the courtyard for the official opening.

The spectacular full contact tournaments begin on Saturday in the Burghof on the “4th. Alpine Cup of the Alpine Warriors at Kaprun Castle” with the Buhurt as an absolute crowd puller. On Sunday the exciting “Man to Man – Sword against Sword” tournaments can be seen in the castle courtyard.

The popular medieval festival offers visitors a large craft and medieval market in front of the castle, a great children's program on the children's meadow, and an impressive tent city in front of the castle presents many activities from over 30 medieval camp groups. For the evening spectacle on Saturday evening, included in the day ticket, there will be an evening program worth hearing and seeing in the castle courtyard from 7.30 pm.
A pulsating fire show in the castle courtyard rounds off the evening program.

Afterwards we go to the Pub Night concert (own entry) with the Irish folk band “TIRNANOG” in the Knights' Hall. The sextet from Bavaria has developed their very own sound, a modern, rocking Irish folk that inspires.

The Burggastro, Auhof Kaprun, regional cuisine at the market ensure your physical well-being, and the KAISER BEER saves you from dying of thirst.

Schloßstraße is closed from Friday, 19 July from 8 am to Sunday, 21 July 2024 closed until 10 pm.
There is no transit to and from Kaprun. The roadblock begins at the Mayreinöd Bridge (Brückenwirt) to the Kaprun town entrance sign at the post bus turnaround point in front of the castle and is monitored by security staff and checked by the police.
We want to ensure the safety of our visitors and participants, as the castle festival is held on the street as well as on the surrounding meadows. A shuttle bus from “Kapruner Taxi Machater” (€ 3 per trip) runs regularly from the “Infopoint” tree bar car park to Kaprun Castle and back again.

 Please take advantage of this opportunity as there are no parking spaces near the castle grounds.
