GP Ice Race 27 – 29 January 2023

In January 2023, the Zell am See airfield will be transformed into an ice race track for one weekend: the GP Ice Race will take place here. Car racing on ice has a long tradition in the region. At its peak in the 1950s to 1970s, 10,000 spectators came to watch the spectacle. 45 years later, the cult race experienced its revival in Zell am See, and the GP Ice Race became an automobile festival.

Two days of motorsport under extreme conditions and in an alpine setting are on the agenda. Amateur drivers and professional racing teams meet and compete in various classes for victory on the ice race track. An absolute highlight!

Skijoring & automotive time travel

In addition to the ice race, skijoring (where a skier is pulled by a car) as well as show and demo runs await you. For car fans, the race weekend will be a journey back in time: In addition to modern dream cars, there will also be historic vehicles to admire, and the look into the future will highlight the topics of sustainability and electromobility.
