28 - 30 January 2022

At GP, everything revolves around the automobile as a cultural asset. E-mobility and the sustainability factor are equally part of the program. The weekend around the GP Ice Race from 28 to 30 January 2022 will offer numerous highlights. In addition to a warm-up day with a clear focus on the car community on Friday, you can look forward to two exciting ice racing days on Saturday and Sunday.

There are again show rides of spectacular racing cars, skijoring on the ice and unique vehicles in front of a unique backdrop. Even in the evening, after the end of the races, the adventure is not over yet. Let yourself be inspired by the spectacular innovations on the new snow platforms!

More details on the program of the GP Ice Race 2022 will follow shortly!

GP Ice Race will be held without fans on site.

Unfortunately we don’t have good news. Despite all efforts, we will not be able to host the 2022 GP Ice Race with our fans on site. And trust us – we have tried everything.
As of this week, local and state authorities have confirmed that spectator numbers would be restricted to 300 (even less than Hermann’s fan club!). This number would not meet our expectations of a festival on ice & planning towards an improvement at this stage would not be responsible.

For us this means we will be missing the most important part: OUR GP FAMILY. And for everyone who had been planning on joining us: We will refund your tickets – no questions asked!
We are still working on bringing all the highlights to our ice track – together with our amazing partners – to be shared digitally? YOU BET!

At the Winter Olympics in 1928, skiers were pulled across the race track at maximum speed by riderless horses.

Skijoring it is! 10 years later, and the first motorised race tandems raced across the ice sheet of Lake Zell. Faster and better; the first cars were permitted at the second skijoring in 1953. Over the years, motorsport on ice became a real trend and attracted thousands of spectators to the many events.

Ambitious racers and passionate motorsport action fans had to wait 45 years for a revival of the event. Greger Porsche Classic Cars GmbH is bringing back the ice race in 2019, thus saving this tradition from sinking into oblivion.

Motorsport is coming back to the Zell am See-Kaprun region.
