The off-piste paradise on the Kitzsteinhorn provides epic downhill runs in powder snow: on designated routes, which can be reached directly from the piste, freeriders of all skill levels will find their suitable terrain in the glistening natural snow. During the weekly Freeride Monday, beginners are trained for their first off-piste excursions, and advanced skiers get safety and skiing technique tips.

The world’s best freestylers regularly prepare for international competitions here - also in the superpipe. Our Schmittenhöhe and Kitzsteinhorn mountain railways run on 100% electricity from renewable sources. This means that green electricity takes you uphill to the mountain and onto the glacier in a climate-friendly way.

Kaprun high mountain reservoirs:

Thanks to the power of nature, green electricity is generated in Zell am See-Kaprun. The sustainable generation of electricity by hydropower helps the climate by saving 500,000 tons of CO2. This amount equals the annual electricity consumption of more than 200,000 households.

By train

Zell am See train station is located right in the centre of town and is easy to reach thanks to its good connecting services. From there you can continue by bus or regional train to your accommodation or directly to the pistes.

By car

Using the main traffic routes and motorways, you can reach Zell am See-Kaprun in just 1.5 hours from the city of Salzburg, and in 2.5 hours from Munich.

By plane

Salzburg Airport is 80 km, and Munich Airport 200 km from Zell am See-Kaprun. Bus or shuttle services take you from there to Zell am See-Kaprun.
