Alpine climb!
High-altitude adventure hike from the Kitzsteinhorn to the Kaprun reservoirs!
This challenging tour starts at the Alpincenter on the Kitzsteinhorn and leads across the glacial lake and the Kammerscharte to the idyllic Fürthermoaralm and on to the high mountain reservoirs. Along the way, some steep sections are equipped with wire ropes for additional safety. Impressive views of the high mountain landscape make the route a special experience for sure-footed and experienced hikers. Snowfields can remain until summer – the tour is recommended from July onwards and only in good weather.

Ascent with the cable cars to Alpincenter/Kitzsteinhorn.
From there walk up in a southerly direction to the Gletschersee. From here (path no 726) continue eastwards to the Kammerscharte (Steinmann). On the other side of the depression follow the path in several windings on the eastern slope of the Kitzsteinhorn and down to the Fürthermoaralm. From here, you can walk down to the valley. Alternatively, you can continue over the Kräuterwanderweg, which will bring you out at the Mooserboden.

Recommended equipment
The more difficult stages of the route are safe-guarded with fixed ropes. (Be careful, the ground may still be covered with snow in places during spring).
Therefore, the path is usually only recommended from July!
Mountain experience is necessary!
Sturdy walking shoes, raincoats and gloves (for fixed ropes) are recommended.
