Summer holidays on the Schmittenhöhe

As soon as the snow melts on the Schmittenhöhe, Zell's local mountain turns into a hiker's paradise. The cable car and gondola lift take you from Zell am See to the summit, from where you can start your hikes: you can choose from leisurely walks and herbal tours to high-altitude hikes and challenging summit tours. Hiking on the Schmittenhöhe 

When hiking on the Schmittenhöhe, one thing above all applies: you have to take your time here - after all, here beckons a panorama that you can't get enough of. You can see up to 30 three-thousand-metre-high peaks from the Schmittenhöhe. On the mountain, you can explore nature with a qualified guide or use one of the clearly marked trails. In addition, the Schmittenhöhe, at almost 2,000 metres above sea level, is a popular take-off point for paragliders: When will you fly with us?

Family outing in summer

In summer, the friendly dragon Schmidolin invites all visiting children to his world of adventure on the Schmittenhöhe. Here, brave adventurers set out to accompany the little dragon on his Baptism of Fire: Tricky puzzles and tests of courage have to be mastered! The older children enjoy fast laps at Schmidolin's Wheels of Fire in Austria's highest-situated e-motocross park. There are also numerous family-friendly hiking and adventure trails and art installations.

Winter on the Schmittenhöhe

In winter, the Schmittenhöhe scores with a great variety of pistes and family highlights: Pistes of all levels of difficulty await you here. In addition, there is the Funslope XXL, a perfectly shaped snow park and the winter adventure world of Schmidolin - the dragon and mascot of the Schmittenhöhe.

77 kilometres of pistes, cosy huts and sunny terraces, night skiing and a Funslope XXL: these are the highlights of the Schmittenhöhe ski area. The panorama and family skiing area skilfully spans the range from wide family pistes to steep downhill runs for pros. The many quaint ski huts or mountain restaurants with sun terraces invite you for refreshments: perfect for enjoying the best view of Zell am See and the region!

Winter holidays with children

The Schmittenhöhe more than lives up to its reputation as a family mountain. Here, the youngest learn how to master their first turns in children's ski lessons with experienced ski instructors: easy, blue slopes and the magic carpet provide the best basis for this. Children and teenagers who are already confident on skis can let off steam on the Kidsslope, in the snow park or on the Funslope XXL. Jumps, waves and banked curves are just the right terrain for hours of skiing fun!
