Kitzsteinhorn The glacier as a year-round excursion destination

The Kitzsteinhorn is the impressive guardian of the Zell am See-Kaprun region: as a prominent peak in the Hohe Tauern, it shapes the appearance of the region. With the most modern mountain railways, you can safely and comfortably glide uphill to over 3,000 metres above sea level to enjoy a unique view of the sea of peaks from the "Top of Salzburg" panorama platform. Once you have reached the top, you are at the highest point in SalzburgerLand that is accessible for everyone.

Biking from the glacier to the valley

In summer, the Kitzsteinhorn, with its high alpine nature, turns into a paradise for freeriders on bikes. Three mountain bike freeride trails lead from the Alpincenter at 2,500 metres above sea level down to the valley, covering almost 1,500 metres in altitude and twelve kilometres in length. The trails are open between June and mid-September, and the best way to master the ascent is by mountain railway.
