Tour description
A varied hike from Zell am See to the valley station of the Schmittenhöhebahn cable car – with beautiful views and exciting sections of the trail.
Shortly after the former Hotel Eichenhof, the Sonnbergpromenade (trail no. 60) branches off from the Dr. Müller Promenade. The trail initially follows the paved Sonnbergstraße road to Sonnberg before continuing along a narrow, somewhat more challenging forest path over the Steingut. After a few steeper passages, this trail joins a wide farm track that leads directly to the valley station of the Schmittenhöhebahn cable car.

The Sonnberg promenade (no 60) branches off the Dr . Müller promenade just behind the former Hotel Eichenhof. In the beginning it follows the asphalt Sonnberg road to the Sonnberg. Then it turns into a narrow very ambitous forest path over the Steingut on a small steep track and, after a few very ambitous meters, joins a wide farmer’s road and continues to the valley station of the Schmittenhöhe cable car.
