Route description:
The stage begins in Elisabethpark in Zell am See at the start/finish sign for the Hohe Tauern Panorama Trail. First, follow the path north to Thumersbach before beginning the ascent to the Thumersbach Höhenpromenade. This scenic themed trail leads through the forest above the lake and past sculptures and stations dedicated to important personalities.

Via Erlhof and Grafleiten, you descend to further walking trails that lead through the ‘Wiesen-Königreich’ nature reserve with its nature trail and viewpoint. Then follow the Tauern Cycle Path, cross the main road and walk along the railway line to the ‘Stefan-Schwaiger-Steg’ footbridge. After crossing the Salzach, a small road leads to the village square of Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße – the end of the stage, near the official start of the Großglockner High Alpine Road.
