Route description:
On the north side of the Uttendorf Hochsonnbergalm, you walk through the gate you came through on the previous stage, but follow the hiking trail to the right around a ridge. Continuing slightly uphill, you will reach the original route of the "Pinzgauer Spaziergang", which leads above the Uttendorfer Hochsonnbergalm. Continue in the same direction along the southern slopes in the direction of "Pinzgauer Hütte/Schmittenhöhe" and you will reach a junction at a small shelter hut southeast of the Klinglertörl. Here, from the left (i.e. from the Klinglertörl) the version of the Pinzgauer Spaziergang from Saalbach is joining - but you continue walking straight ahead to the east. From here on, however, the hiking trail is noticeably better laid out and has the character of a promenade almost. Here the trail continues at more or less the same altitude along the southern slopes. You reach a few huts, disregard a branch off to the right in the direction of Niedernsill (you continue to follow the signposts "Pinzgauer Hütte/Schmittenhöhe") and keep on walking on the path of the Pinzgauer Spaziergang over alpine meadows to the Klammscharte (1.993 m) and further along the path south of the Gernkogel around another edge of the terrain to the summit Rohrertörl (1.918 m). Enjoy here the fantastic view to the north of the Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge.
At the eastern end of the wide Rohrertörl, turn right again in the direction of "Hochsonnbergalm/Pinzgauer Hütte" and walk along the soon to be wider road at the same altitude until shortly before the Piesendorfer Hochsonnbergalm (yes, there are two alpine huts with almost the same name, the Uttendorfer Hochsonnbergalm and the Piesendorfer Hochsonnbergalm) the "Pinzgauer Spaziergang" branches off straight ahead. But you follow the road to the right downhill and make a small detour via the Piesendorfer Hochsonnbergalm. Simply because a visit of this traditional alpine hut is highly recommended.
Starting from the Piesendorfer Hochsonnbergalm you ascend directly up the slope and soon join the Pinzgauer Spaziergang trail again. Continue along the path at the same altitude to the east until you reach the Kesselscharte (1.844 m).
Now you leave the Pinzgauer Spaziergang for today and turn sharp right onto a path towards the Pinzgauer Hütte, which takes you in the opposite direction down to a driveway. Follow the road to the right for a short while and after about 100 m turn sharp left onto a hiking trail that will take you - this time in the "right" walking direction - in a few minutes down to the Pinzgauer Hut (1.700 m), your stage destination.
