Route description:
From the starting point at the information office of the Kaprun Tourism Association, this tour leads swiftly onto the asphalted cycle track: this was once the route of the works railway, the original transport rail route. Throughout the tour, signs of the Kesselfall cycle track guide you in a south-westerly direction: this offers plenty of variety after the leisurely start! At the Kaprun power station and the entrance to the Sigmund Thun Gorge (don't forget your bike lock, a visit to the gorge is highly recommended!) the surface then changes to gravel and narrower trails - ideal for mountain bikers. Now follows a steeper section with about 100 metres of ascent. Very young bikers may need some help here: But as there are always impressive views into the depths and of the Kapruner Ache along the gorge, several short breaks are definitely a good idea. The next highlight, the Klammsee reservoir, is not far: the easy to bike forest path along the quiet reservoir complements this mountain bike experience. In addition, the Klammseestüberl invites you to take a break. Afterwards, the trail continues to meander along narrow forest and meadow paths into the Kaprun valley, past the panorama cable car uphill to the Kesselfall Alpenhaus, but always along the Kaprun Ache. The way back follows the same route.
