Tour description

A shady hunting trail through the forest – the perfect, quiet alternative for descending from the Schmittenhöhe on hot summer days.

The old Jägersteig trail offers a particularly attractive option for descending from the Schmittenhöhe. Just below the summit, at the Pinzgauer Spaziergang, the narrow path begins, winding its way downhill through sheltered woodland – ideal on warm days. The wildly romantic trail eventually joins the Areit or Schmitten hiking trail, from where you can reach the mountain stations of the areitXpress or cityXpress – or continue hiking down into the valley.
