Tour description
Varied hike from Schüttdorf along alpine and forest paths up to the AreitLounge and on towards Schmittenhöhe.
From Schüttdorf, the trail leads uphill via the old Areitweg trail and past the Schoberalm. After crossing the farm track several times, you reach the Areitalm via a forest path. The route continues on well-maintained farm tracks to the Glockneralm , where it joins the Schmittenhöhenweg No. 58 trail. You can descend with the areitXpress or continue hiking towards the Schmittenhöhe.

At the start, the route quickly heads uphill on the old Areit Trail, past the Schoberalm. After crossing the agricultural road three times, you continue along that road until you reach a forest path that leads directly to the Areitalm (1,400 m). From here, the route leads exclusively along well-maintained agricultural roads to the Glockneralm. (1,601 m), where the Areit Trail joins the Schmittenhöhen Trail no. 58.
