The first Ironman 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun on 26th Aug. 2012 was a success. Over 20.000 fans cheered for the 1.800 athletes! We're looking foward to the next IRONMAN 70.3 Salzburg on the 1st of September 2013.
Athletes will swim 1.9km in the beautiful lake Zell, compete on the bike for 90km along the picturesque region of Zell am See-Kaprun, Maishofen, Bruck, Piesendorf and run 21.1km along the lake to finish in Zell am See. It's called Ironman 70.3 because of the full distance of 113km, which is 70.3 miles.
The event is one of only 12 in Europe. Zell am See-Kaprun is the 2nd venue for an Ironman 70.3 in Austria after St. Pölten. There is just another IRONMAN over the full distance in Klagenfurt. The best of their classes can qualify for the world championship in Las Vegas.
More than 1800 athlethes of over 50 nations registered 2012. We're had more than 20.000 viewers. Would you like to register for the Event 2013?
Besides lots of side events there will be an "Irongirl" and "Ironkids" too.
