For the 4th year in a row athletes will swim 1.9km in the beautiful lake Zell, compete on the bike for 90km in the picturesque region and run 21.1km along the lake to finish in Zell am See. This sums up to 113km, which are 70.3 miles, hence the name.
IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship 2015:
The IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship 2015 will take place on the 30th of August 2015 in Zell am See-Kaprun! The WC takes place in Europe for the first time.
Another first time: there will be two races on this weekend.The fourth IRONMAN 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun will take place on Saturday, the 29th August 2015. On Sunday the 30th of August more than 2000 athletes will compete for the World Championship title. They all will have to qualify at an IRONMAN 70.3 to be able to participate. The races will take place on the same race course.
A Unique Race Track
Instead of two bike rounds 2014's IRONMAN 70.3 featured one 90.1 km long bike race course already. The race track leads up to 1280m above sea level.
