Tour description

A natural gem on Lake Zell – rare plants, diverse wildlife and impressive mountain scenery.

The Zeller See South Nature and Landscape Conservation Area covers more than 220 hectares in the southern siltation zone of the lake and is one of the most species-rich wetlands in the region. Flat moors, wet meadows and water areas provide habitats for rare plants such as lilies and orchids, as well as for lapwings, dragonflies and many other animal species. Due to its size, the area can be explored from several sides – ideally on foot or by bicycle.
