Maurerkogel/Rohrertörl

Peak within easy reach of hiking paradise 'Schmitten'. The local mountain of Zell am See offers a sensational hiking area for the entire family. The trails are beautiful and easy to walk and you can focus fully on the view. Take a stroll on the high-altitude promenade or spend an entire day enjoying the Pinzgau Walk.

Starting point Schmittenhöhe: The path goes down-hill to the Kettingtörl along the Hahnkopfliftes- Kettingkopf under the crest where the Pinzgauer Spaziergang (No. 719) starts, after 15 minutes walking you will get to the junction Maurerkogel. To the right the ridge leads to the peak. At the peak you can go on via the Rohertörl  to the Hochsonnbergalm, which is a very traditional hut that reflects the unique character of the region (home-made products, own cheese dairy). The way back is on the Pinzgauer Spaziergang (No. 719) to the Schmittenhöhe.
