Route description:
Up to the railroad crosswalk in Mittersill, the route is the same as the end of the previous stage: From the entrance of the National Park Center you go to the north side of the building and to the pond in the park-like area. Turn right around the pond and take the right-hand road that goes north (Hintere Lendstraße). At the end turn right into Lendstraße, after a few meters diagonally left over the small parking lot to a bicycle and foot path and over this to the right (east) until you reach a large road. Follow this road to the left over the railroad. Here you leave the route of the previous stage: After the railroad crossing you go straight ahead into the street "Schettbühel". Follow the road to the right - in a sharp bend to the left the hiking trail "Schlossrundweg" branches off. You walk under the Pass-Thurn-Bundesstraße, cross a small asphalt road and reach the Pass-Thurn-Bundesstraße again. Cross the road and turn right next to a small asphalt road onto a hiking trail into the forest. Follow this path up to the right end of the castle.
You walk around it and walk on its north side to the west, past the Neidhäusl house to the left until you reach a farmstead. Here you turn right, pass under the Pass-Thurn-street for the last time to an asphalt road and follow it straight on towards Rosswegscharte. At the next two junctions follow the sign "702 Liendlam/Rosswegscharte" to the right. In a right-hand bend of the asphalt road, the beautiful shortcut begins on the left, along hiking trails through the forest. With short interruptions along asphalt roads, you follow the signs to Liendlalm uphill for quite a while - crossing forest roads again and again. At an altitude of 1.400 m the shortcuts over hiking trails through the forest end and you reach a forest road. You ascend this road on the left for about 80 m until it becomes a hiking trail. Soon you will reach the first alpine pastures and hike along a beautiful meadow path up to the Liendlalm (approx. 1.700 m; beautiful view of Mittersill!).
Behind the Liendlalm, you follow trail tracks or mostly pathless (but well marked) up the beautiful alpine meadows to the Rosswegscharte (2.060 m).
Beyond, briefly down over a 3 m high rock step with climbing aid and then cross the slope slightly descending for about 15 min until you reach the Sintersbachscharte (2.035 m). At a crossroads, take the hiking trail down to the right and after about 300 m you will reach the simple and rustic Bürglhütte (1.699 m), your stage destination.
