Hike to the Alpincenter and via Alexander-Enzinger-Weg to the centre Hiking tours
Tour description
Challenging high-altitude hike from Wüstlau via the Krefelderhütte on the Alexander Enzinger Trail to the Maiskogel – an alpine classic with impressive views.
The Krefelderhütten trail starts in Wüstlau and leads about 500 metres after Klammsee over a bridge westwards up over the Hinterwallberg to the Ederalm and on through the Grubbachkar to the Salzburgerhütte mountain hut. From there, the trail runs southeast past the Geißstein up to the Krefelderhütte mountain hut, which offers overnight accommodation. The trail then follows the Alexander-Enzinger-Weg, a scenic high-altitude trail over the Grubalmkar, the Stangerhöhe and several striking passes to the Glocknerblick Hut and on to the Saulochalm. From there, the marked trail continues downhill towards Kaprun; there is also the option of taking the MK Maiskogelbahn cable car from the mountain station down to the town centre.
