Route description:
The approximately seven-kilometre circular route starts at the information office of the Kaprun Tourism Association on the main road in a south-westerly direction. After the sports ground, there is a turn to the left and the biggest climb of the tour begins - at first on asphalt, later on gravel and forest paths. Occasionally you have to pedal harder to master the steeper sections: The reward is a beautiful, flat section along the forest border with a view of the Maiskogel and the town of Kaprun. A final climb leads to the highest point of the tour at 913 metres above sea level, where the route turns left onto the forest road. From here, the route descends until the first residential buildings of Kaprun appear. By turning right, you can plan a small detour up to the Panorama Ferienhaus Guggenbichl, but alternatively you can skip this intermediate destination: However, the view is worthwhile in any case. The last two kilometres are followed by a loop that passes below Kaprun Castle and leads to the cycle track towards the resting area for cyclists in the village centre. After the finishing straight, it is back to the starting point at the information office of the Kaprun Tourism Association.
