Tour description

A varied high-altitude hike from Kaprun to Maiskogel – past mountain huts and along the scenic Alexander Enzinger Trail.

The hike starts in the Kaprun Valley and leads along the Krefelderhüttenweg trail, past the Ederalm and the Salzburgerhütte, up to the Krefelderhütte hut (overnight accommodation available). The walking time to this point is around 5 hours. From the Krefelderhütte, you follow the Alexander-Enzinger-Weg, a particularly beautiful high-altitude trail that leads via the Grubalmkar, the Stangerhöhe and several scenic crossings to the Glocknerblick snack bar. After another 20 minutes or so, you reach the mountain station of the MK Maiskogelbahn, from where you can return to the centre of Kaprun.
