716 | Austria trail: Mooserboden - Kapruner Törl - Rudolfshütte Hiking tours
Tour description
High-altitude mountain hike with spectacular views from the Kaprun reservoirs over the Kapruner Törl pass to the Stubach Valley.
From Kaprun, you can reach the high mountain reservoirs at around 2,000 metres above sea level in around 45 minutes by bus and funicular railway. The starting point is the Mooserboden mountain restaurant. The trail leads along the reservoir past imposing three-thousand-metre peaks and glacier breaks and then climbs in serpentines to the Kapruner Törl (approx. 2,650 m). The panoramic view of the Kaprun and Stubach valleys is one of the highlights of the tour. The route continues across alpine moraine landscape to the Tauernmoosbach stream and on to the Rudolfshütte hut (2,315 m). The descent is to Enzingerboden or, alternatively, with the Weißsee Glacier Cable Car. The tour takes place mainly in high alpine terrain and is classified as a black hiking trail. Sure-footedness, a head for heights and appropriate mountain experience are required.
