On the Kitzsteinhorn Explorer Tour, a National Park ranger takes you on an adventurous journey through four climate zones. The guided family hike starts at the lower terminus. The trail leads then through high alpine terrain for two to three hours: You will learn interesting facts about the formation of glacier ice, flora and fauna on the Kitzsteinhorn. Once you arrive at Gipfelwelt 3000 on the Kitzsteinhorn, the National Park Gallery and Salzburg's highest-situated panorama platform "Top of Salzburg" are waiting for you.
My first three-thousand-metre-high peak: To the summit
The majestic Kitzsteinhorn measures an amazing 3,203 metres, and together with a mountain guide, you set out to conquer this peak. On the tour "My first three-thousand-metre-high peak", you are hiking for a total of five hours, whereby the 200-metre ascent from the upper terminus at 3,029 metres above sea level takes about one hour. Once you reach the top of the Kitzsteinhorn, you can enjoy a unique view of the region. You need to be sure-footed and in good physical condition for this tour.
