show bread beaking in the old wood-burning oven

Master baker Günther Katschner needs about 80 kilograms of hardwood to bring the more than 200-year-old brick oven to operating temperature.
From around 10am until 12pm, you can watch how bread is being baked.
In addition to the bread baked in the wood-fired oven, there are also sweet temptations such as Buchteln (sweet rolls filled with jam, poppy seeds or curd cheese) with vanilla sauce, nut and poppy seed strudel to buy.
With the beautiful view to the Kitzsteinhorn, the whole ambience around the wood-fired oven is also something special.
The master baker operates the wood-fired oven at a 400-year old farmhouse -the Holzofenstüberl café and bakery.
Above the bakery is the Kaprun Museum with exhibitions about the Kaprun power plant construction and the history of the glacier ski area.
