Walpurgis night at castle Kaprun
Walpurgis night at castle Kaprun
Walpurgisnacht
On Walpurgis Night, witches ride their broomsticks through the mysterious night. At Beltane, fires are lit as symbols of new life in nature, of returning light, as well as love and passion. It is a time to let go of the old in the flames and to welcome the new. Our Moon Witches dance around the fire in the castle courtyard, celebrating the beginning of the warm season and the power of fertility and renewal.
LIVE: The Dullahans
The band already created an electrifying atmosphere and absolute dance ecstasy at a previous Walpurgis Night in the Knights’ Hall. With their Irish Celtic Outlaw Folk, The Dullahans conjure vivid images of Ireland in all its contrasts. Their songs tell stories of love, joy and excess, but also of hatred, suffering and hardship. Blending traditional tunes with modern Irish folk influences, the band can even get the most die-hard hip-hop fans dancing. Their traditional instrumentation – including accordion, tin whistle and banjo – creates an authentic pub atmosphere with classic drinking songs. It’s a musical journey into the colorful world of Ireland. The band’s name comes from Irish mythology – and while Dullahans are headless, these five musicians from southern Germany certainly are not.
