Vortrag: Bauernkrieg? (lecture in german language!)
As part of the Salzburg regional project “Peasants’ War 1525/1526”, the Kaprun Museum is staging a special exhibition (from 21 May 2026) focusing on the local events of the uprising and its consequences for rural farming communities.
The VSF Kaprun, together with the Sigmund Thun Gorge and the Kaprun Museum, is delighted to invite you to the introductory talk at the Meixnerhaus:
In his lecture, Professor Martin KNOLL from the University of Salzburg provides an overview of the uprisings that shook large parts of Central Europe between 1524 and 1526. He attempts to contextualise these events within their historical era and discusses how they have been remembered in society up to the present day.
