Javus Quartet
The Javus Quartet is a string quartet from Salzburg consisting of violinists Marie-Therese Schwöllinger and Alexandra Moser, violist Anuschka Cidlinsky, and cellist Oscar Hagen. The four young musicians have been playing together in various ensembles for many years and founded the Javus Quartet in 2016. The quartet's development has been significantly influenced by Lukas Hagen, first violinist of the Hagen Quartet, and they are currently studying with Johannes Meissl at the mdw in Vienna. The Javus Quartet works with the world's most renowned chamber music professors. Particularly noteworthy are Eberhard Feltz, Gerhard Schulz, Valentin Erben, Michael Vogler, Rainer Schmidt, Thomas Adès, and Christoph Poppen, all luminaries of chamber music with rich experience in world-famous quartet formations. They participated in the IMS Masterclass in Prussia Cove and the ProQuartet Sessions, and played at the Mattsee Diabelli Summer Festival and the Mondsee Music Days (artistic direction: Auryn Quartet).Through the renowned Musethica program, they had the opportunity to perform with Jean and Agnes Sulem (Rosamunde Quartet) at the Israel International Festival. A highlight of 2020 was their performances with Valentin Erben from the Alban Berg Quartet. In addition to their busy concert schedule at home and abroad, the quartet was awarded second prize at the C.R.D.M chamber music competition in Udine, Italy, in 2017, and the audience prize at the Irene Steels Wilsing Competition as part of the Heidelberg Spring Festival in 2020.
