In 2025, the Kaprun Castle Association will be celebrating its 35 anniversary, which is a very good reason to celebrate. T
he Kaprun Castle Festival will take place from July 18 to 20, 2025, when Kaprun Castle will shine in a golden light. What started small within the castle walls in 1986 has grown into a stately castle festival after being held 4 times.
New ideas have been introduced time and again and the castle festival site has been extended. The castle festival has long enjoyed a high reputation among all medieval enthusiasts from near and far and invites you on a spectacular journey back in time to the Middle Ages.
With over 400 participants, a large medieval and craft market, a breathtaking tent city, numerous music groups, fascinating artists, amusing jugglers, a varied daytime and children's program as well as a spectacular evening spectacle followed by an Irish folk concert in the Knights' Hall, the castle festival offers visitors everything in and around the castle.

The highlight is the spectacular full-contact tournament of the Alpine warriors in the castle courtyard. The exciting Buhurt team fight takes place in the castle arena on Saturday and the sword tournaments on Sunday.

Each with the subsequent award ceremonies. The big anniversary surprise is once again a dragon, who lives in his dragon's lair on the children's meadow. His fire fountains will once again amaze the children.

The Kaprun Castle Festival starts with the market spectacle on Friday, 18.07.2025 on Friday evening from 5 pm with culinary delights, market and camp life, knight show, children's activities, jugglery and evening concert with a small fire show until 10 pm.

The highlights are the parades from Salzburgerplatz on Saturday, 19.07. and Sunday, 20.07.2025 at 11 am to the castle in the castle courtyard for the official opening.
For the evening spectacle on Saturday evening, included in the day ticket, an evening program worth hearing and seeing will be offered in the castle courtyard from 7.30 pm.

A pulsating fire show in the castle courtyard rounds off the evening program. The night concert or pub night (own admission) takes place in the Knights' Hall with the Irish band “SELFISH MURPHY” until cockcrow.

The 'Burggastro' will take care of your physical well-being and KAISER BIER will save you from thirst. The Auhof Kaprun offers a wide range of culinary delights in the castle or at the market, as do many stalls at the market.
