Guestbook On a search for traces of famous personalities

What do the renowned writer Stefan Zweig, the cancer surgeon Ritter Julius von Hochenegg, the painter Alfred Kubin or the world-famous von Trapp Family of the film “Sound of Music“ have in common? They all left their marks on Zell am See-Thumersbach during their lifetime.

Discover the pioneering personalities – who left their footprints on this place while being influenced by the impressive nature of this region – on the “guestbook“ theme trail during a leisurely walk along the picturesque alpine promenade.

You will be surprised by the artistic realisation of the individual stations while walking along the theme trail. The sceneries along the theme trail do not only introduce these personalities; perfectly integrated in the mystical forest, on soft mosses and between wild roots, they are also a homage to nature.

Exceptional view

When the forest clears halfway through and the view opens to the glistening lake, the Schmittenhöhe and the Kitzsteinhorn then it’s time for a stop to pause and enjoy the clean mountain air. At the “guestbook“ station, browse through the stories of selected pioneers and visionaries representing all the personalities who enlivened and enriched the Zell am See-Kaprun region over the centuries.
Apart from the short portraits of the region’s national and international pioneers, there are mirror surfaces at the “guestbook“ signalling that you too have the potential to leave your marks in the book of history.
