Mountain biking MTB tours in Zell am See-Kaprun

Flowy single trails, winding mountain bike routes, clearly marked bike tracks in the valley and forest roads leading to the most beautiful places for a rest: Mountain biking in Zell am See-Kaprun is a great way to discover the region. The network of mountain bike trails and cycle tracks is widely ramified. The choice ranges from demanding, challenging MTB tours uphill to quaint huts to leisurely cycling excursions at the valley bottom. In addition, passionate downhillers and endurance bikers will find four freeride trails on the Kitzsteinhorn and Maiskogel, which promise lots of riding fun.

Mountain bike tour on the Schmittenhöhe

The Schmittenhöhe, Zell's local mountain, is not only an outstanding sunny spot and a hiker's paradise, but also a rewarding destination for mountain bikers. One tour that is used mainly by locals for training is the route to the Pinzgauer Hütte and on to the Hochsonnbergalm. Because of the many hours of sunshine, this tour is snow-free and easily doable from spring onwards.

MTB Trails on the Kitzsteinhorn & Maiskogel

On the Kitzsteinhorn, where skiers whiz down the glacier pistes in winter, freeriders in particular get what their heart desires in summer. Three diverse mountain bike trails await enduro specialists and downhill riders. The mountain railway takes you and your bike to the starting point at the Alpincenter, from where the trail fun begins. The Maiskogel trail is new and just as exciting: it is perfect for beginners, but also great fun for experts.

Summit tour: The Hundstein

The ideal combination for a mountain bike tour? A sporty challenge, an impressive landscape and of course a stopover at a cosy hut. Zell am See-Kaprun offers many tours of this kind, one of the most popular classics is the tour uphill to the Hundstein: The demanding summit tour can be started from Bruck or Maria Alm and leads to the 2,117-metre-high mountain near Zell am See, and thus to the highest peak in the Salzburg Slate Alps. The reward awaits directly at the summit: a view of Lake Zell and a stop at the Statzerhaus.
