A winter expedition on narrow boards

Cross-country skier wearing yellow boots and a red jacket photographed from knee height. In the background you can see the massive, rectangular towers of Kaprun Castle against the blue sky.

Crunching snow and visible breath, trails that stretch across a winter idyll: in the sparkling natural spectacle of the region, you will completely forget that cross-country skiing originally came from the plateaus of Scandinavia. As far as the eye can see, cross-country trails of a total of 200 kilometres in length wind their way all through Zell am See-Kaprun and into the neighbouring regions.

Even people who usually avoid doing sports will soon succumb to the lure of the majestic mountains. You want to have a go yourself but lack the necessary equipment? The local cross-country ski hire company supplies everything you need for an excursion in the cross-country trails. And of course, they will make no secret of the right tips for the choice and servicing of your equipment either. Moreover: hiring the boards on location will save you lots of loading space in your car during the journey.

Cross-country skiing asks for physical strength and stamina. And 'in passing' you get to know the most beautiful corners of the region. Many cross-country trails take you to the most impressive sights of Zell am See-Kaprun. To make sure that you don't overexert yourself on your trips, the local cross-country skiing school will teach you the correct technique - double pole as well as herringbone.
