To the reservoirs by bike and across the glacier on foot

Gletschersommer200x270 1

July does not only kick off with splendid sunshine but with a large number of sporting challenges, too. One of them is to master a difference in altitude of 1,250 metres lying between the valley and the Alpine reservoirs of Kaprun in the saddle of your bike. Not a problem at all? Well, then grab this opportunity and meet other ambitious cyclists at the parking area of Maiskogel on 4th July at 8 am. The tilted lift will take care of the first stretch of the ascent so that you can sit back and enjoy the unique view of the surrounding mountains.

On the following day opposites will join hands: Kitzsteinhorn invites guests to participate in a party on the mountain boasting a guided summit tour, snowball fights, and a taster ride on a real snow groomer. A winter day in the middle of summer? Well, for sure! It is no coincidence that the local mountain of Kaprun with its perpetually snow-covered glacier is the coolest mountain in the entire province of Salzburg. Enjoy snacks and drinks at the ice bar and an unforgettable winter day in July!

Without a doubt: thanks to the large number of great events on the mountains it is not easy at all to turn your back on them. But taking a look down in the valley is well worth it, too: from July to the end of August every Wednesday artists, musicians, and actors make the pedestrian precinct in the picturesque heart of the town their stage. The Summer Night Festivals in Zell am See start at 7 pm and enthrall locals as well as guests with their unique Mediterranean ambience.
