A stiff breeze and deep waters
Blue waves, billowing white sails, racy yachts, which glide elegantly through the water: sailing captivates the active sportspeople on board and the observer at the shore alike. To control wind and waves by means of the flapping canvas, everybody pulls together. Sailing is a team sport adventure. If you want to take first place in the local yacht club's regatta, there is only one way to do it - together.
Lake Zell offers ideal conditions for learning some maritime skills and perfecting them. It is not for nothing that outstanding sailors like Olympic champion Hans-Peter Steinacher come from Zell am See-Kaprun, the 'Cradle of Professional Sport'. At the local sailing schools, you can obtain your internationally accredited sailing license. Now nothing will stand in your way of taking your own trip across the 'big pond'.
If you prefer the surfboard to the planks, you will quickly fall for sailboarding. It will be hard to let go of the crossbeam again once you have figured out how to get on your surfboard from the water. Before you take off like a pro, you should take a couple of theoretical lessons - surfer and sailor alike have to learn and master the 'traffic regulations' on the water first.
