Relaxation with more than one catch
When there is something thrashing about on the end of one's line, waiting has really been worthwhile. But during a relaxed summer holiday in Zell am See-Kaprun, you do not just catch fish, but also lots of rest and relaxation. The question of whether they 'bite' or they do not, may be of almost secondary importance here. The fishing season in the popular holiday region starts right on time for the first summer holidaymakers. In winter the local angling club offers a very special experience: 'ice fishing'.
You are allowed to use live bait to lure the fish. Multiple hooks, on the other hand, are forbidden. There is a wide variety of fish in the crystal clear waters of Lake Zell: eel, perch, pikeperch, and catfish all bustle around together with other scaled friends below the surface of the lake. Moreover, you can find some of the rarer species of trout here, besides the well-known rainbow trout.
There is no close season for eel, perch, bream, and bait fish in Zell am See-Kaprun, and no minimum size either. Pike and all species of trout, on the other hand, have to be put back if their bodies measure less than 50 centimetres. Tench and whitefish may be taken home if they are at least 30 centimetres in length. And there is a minimum size of 36 centimetres for char and 55 centimetres for pikeperch.
