Adventure world wood "Mühlauersäge" Fusch
various sights - sightseeing/guided tour - handicraft demonstration
The Adventure Sawmill in Fusch on Glocknerstrasse Alpine Road can look back on a turbulent history of more than 100 years. In the beginning it was Martin Mühlauer who ran the sawmill on water power before setting up the power generation plant in 1913 which supplied the entire village with electricity. By opening the Adventure Sawmill for tourists about 90 years later, Mühlauer’s great-granddaughter Brigitte erected a memorial in honour of her ancestor. Since 2004 visitors can learn everything about wood, the forest as a biocoenosis and its function as a recreational area on two floors.
